Stephenson County Farmers Market, Tuesday (12 – 4 pm) and Saturday (8 am to 1 pm) until October 28, 1805 S. West Avenue (Logan’s Bar & Grill Parking Lot), Freeport.

Freeport Farmers Market, Saturdays 7 to 11 am until October 4, 721 W. South Street (CVS Parking Lot), Freeport.

Highland Farmers Market, Wednesdays 3 to 6 pm, June 4 – October 1, Highland Community College, Parking Lot C, 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport.

Lena Farmers Market, Saturdays 8 to 11 am, June 7 – October 4, 100 W. Main, Lena.

Northwest Illinois Has Plenty of Snow – Lots of Good Winter Activities

Winter activities in the Freeport Parks include ice skating, ice hockey, sledding, and cross Country skiing. The ice skating and hockey are Read Park while the sledding is at Krape Park.
At Oakdale you can enjoy cross-country skiing, and if you don’t have skis (or snowshoes), you can rent them for the weekend at the Park District main office in Read Park. Go to the Park District website for details at http://www.freeportparkdistrict.org/ and look under programs, winter activities.

And don’t forget snowmobiling –

There are over 300 miles of marked trails for snowmobiling in Northwest Illinois, including on the Jane Addams Trail between Freeport and Wisconsin. Detailed trail maps are available at the Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center, 4596 US Highway 20 East, Freeport. Call 800.369.2955 for snowmobile conditions.

The fair season ends this week with the Winnebago County Fair which starts Today and runs until August 18 at Pecatonica, Illinois. This year it features Country Superstar Jo Dee Messina on Saturday, August 17.

Looking for Something to Do This Week End – Oregon Trail Days Looks Like Fun!

The annual Oregon Trail Days Festival celebrating Oregon’s American Indian and Western heritage will be this weekend, July 20 -21 at Lowden State Park. There will be entertainment running all day long on both days. From food and mountain men demonstrations to canoe rides this looks like an event not to miss!
